On behalf of the DHIM, a $500 donation was given to support outreach to the Saints of Mozambique…to support a delegation of six (6) Ministers and Officers from Zimbabwe–including Elder Unity Bhasera, Elder Evans Makuwaza, Elder Noddie Nyamurima, Elder Elude Mukanhami, Sister Elder Lydia Muzamindo (District Mother Sarah) and Chorister Viola Kwindima (District Chorister)–to travel to conduct further outreach and attend services in Mutarara District, Mozambique, June 5th-10th, 2018.
The June trip was a success, and based on the observations of the delegation, another outreach/service activity was recently held 24-25 November 2018 (St Shannon attended)…it was also a success. There are recommendations for future outreach initiatives including: collaborating with Department of Religious Education to develop Sabbath School materials in Portuguese, Sena and/or Chewa languages; sending a delegation of singers to further interpret COGASOC songs in Chewa, Sena, and Portuguese; addressing food security challenges; and collaborating with the DOJASOM to assist in uniform and general clothing donations for saints in need in Mozambique.
For the coming year, the DHIM will be reaching out to the aforementioned departments—in Africa and the US– to discuss the potential opportunities for collaboration in support of these recommendations.
